Rigor and Reproducibility

The MMRRC is at the forefront of developing and implementing novel broad-based strategies to optimize rigor and reproducibility of research using mouse models.  Two key examples of this are 1) the development, refinement and application of miniMUGA for the assessment and confirmation of background strain/substrain of MMRRC mice and 2) microbiota testing to help researchers understand the role of microbiota on model phenotypes.

The MMRRC at UC Davis has performed background strain analysis on select lines. You can search for your strain of interest on the MiniMUGA page. If the strain is not listed and you would like us to perform testing on cryorecovered mice, or if you are backcrossing the line in your facility and would like to analyze congenicity for selection of breeders, please contact us.

The MMRRC at UC Davis has performed fecal microbiome analysis on select lines. You can search for your strain of interest on the Microbiome page. If you would like to test the microbiota of a line once you establish it at your facility, please contact us and we can provide an estimate of costs and send you a Gut Microbiota Collection Kit.
